BEL AIR, Md., (Oct. 14, 2020) – Harford County continues to bring more services online to make it easier and more efficient to do business.
Through the Harford County ePermit Center, home builders can complete online the entire permitting process for residential building permits for new single-family and two-family homes and townhouses. Paper permit applications are no longer required.
“This new online service is one-stop shopping for residential building permits, from application through issuance,” County Executive Barry Glassman said. “The process is faster, more accurate and more convenient for anyone building their own home and for professional homebuilders. It also streamlines the workflow for county employees.”
The traditional residential building process requires multiple applications for permits issued by different departments within and outside of county government. Harford’s new online service consolidates all of these permit applications into one document with sections for the building permit; driveway access; grading and stormwater management, and well and septic.
Customers begin by creating an account, or by using their existing one, in the Harford County ePermit Center. From there, they can submit, pay for, and track the status of their residential building permit application. After their permit is approved, customers can request inspections 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can also view and print county-issued documents, including their Certificate of Occupancy once their project has been completed and approved by all necessary agencies.
More information is available in the user guides in the FAQs section of the ePermit Center, or a representative is available to answer questions Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 410-638-3122.
