As of April 18, 2016, The State Department of Assessments & Taxation (SDAT) launched its new online Uniform Commercial Code Filing and Search System. SDAT strongly urges the use of its online UCC system at:
www.maryland.gov/UCC
If you have questions regarding UCC filings or the online system, please contact SDAT’s UCC staff at (410) 767-1459 or its online application partner, NIC Maryland, at (410) 990-1090 (technical questions).
There will be a short delay between the time of filing a UCC record online and the time the UCC record will be available to search. SDAT’s staff must ensure all personally identifiable information is redacted prior to entering the record into its search system. SDAT plans to implement automated redaction in a later production release.
Please note the following changes which have been made to SDAT’s internal procedures and processes involving paper filings:
- UCC filings will not be accepted via courier or other personal delivery at 301 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, Room 801, Maryland 21201 after 2:00 p.m. each business day. UCC filings delivered via express mail or regular mail must be delivered to SDAT before 12:00 p.m. to ensure same-day processing.
- UCC filings will no longer be accepted via facsimile.
- SDAT will no longer accept cash for payment of UCC filing fees.
