James Run, a mixed use development, slated for the intersection of I-95 and Maryland Route 543, received approval for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) from the Harford County Council. The development, composed of 388 luxury lodging houses, 350,000 square feet of retail/restaurant, and 540,000 square feet of offices, was approved by the County Council for TIF financing in November, 2012 and April, 2013.
The TIF efforts were lead by Joseph F. Snee, Jr. of Snee, Mahoney, Lutche & Helmlinger, P.A.. The TIF financing will jump-start the on-site and off-site public improvements, including, but not limited to, water, sewer, roads and water tower, for the mixed use project. The TIF authorization is the culmination of many years of legal land use, governmental, political, legal and engineering efforts to fully entitle the James Run property.
Construction, slated to begin later this year, commences one of Harford County’s largest private development projects. Snee, Mahoney, Lutche & Helmlinger, P.A. and its attorneys will continue to assist the property owner to complete the TIF process and provide legal services during the construction phases.
