On Wednesday, November 18th, K. Hovnanian, a New Jersey-based homebuilder was granted a long disputed permit for a housing development project on Kent Island. The Board of Public Works’ 2-1 decision was largely based on testimony by the State Wetlands Administrator Bill Morgante, stating that the development would result in “less pollution than the farmland” that currently makes up the land. The decision was a victory for SMLH Of Counsel John Zink, who represented Hovnanian in the dispute. Read more about the decision in the Baltimore Sun article.
