Snee and Lutche Lead the Way on 2017 Comprehensive Rezoning

Shareholders Joseph F. Snee, Jr. and Stephen W. Lutche led all Harford County attorneys in the number of Issues filed (requests for comprehensive rezoning) and  the successful passage of  those Issues during the recently concluded 2017 Harford County Comprehensive Rezoning process.

After the filing of the applications for rezoning from December 2016 to February 2017, Snee and Lutche steered their clients’ Issues through public hearings before the Planning Advisory Board, the Harford County Department of Planning and Zoning and the Harford County Council.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the Harford County Council approved all of the requests filed by Snee and Lutche but for one.  For that one, Snee and Lutche were able to up-zone a portion of the request from Agricultural zoning (AG) to R-1 zoning (residential).

The County Council bill approving the requests of Snee and Lutche is expected to be signed into law by Harford County Executive Barry Glassman.  Thereafter, it will become law (unless petitioned to referendum by the voters of Harford County which is extremely unlikely) in December, 2017.

Joe Snee and Steve Lutche thank their clients for the opportunity to serve them.  The successful results obtained by Harford County’s premier land use law firm, Snee, Lutche, Helmlinger & Spielberger, P.A. is a testament to the hard work of SLH attorneys, legal assistants and staff.

Under Maryland law, comprehensive rezoning must take place every 10 years.  In the interim, clients may obtain rezoning of their property by virtue of the “piecemeal process”.  For more details, please call Joe or Steve at 410-893-7500.
