Prior to establishing itself as the premier law firm in Harford County, Maryland, many of the lawyers at Snee, Lutche, Helmlinger & Spielberger, P.A. were members of large, well-established Maryland law firms.

Joseph F. Snee, Jr. became partner at Venable, Baetjer & Howard (now Venable and currently Maryland’s largest law firm) in 1993.  Snee was a partner in the Litigation Department of Venable.  Snee trained under Venable lawyers such as C. Carey Deeley, now a Baltimore County Circuit Court judge.  Snee left Venable to establish the law firm which is now known as Snee, Lutche, Helmlinger & Spielberger, P.A.

Colleen Helmlinger worked at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston from 1997 to 2001.  (Whiteford, Taylor & Preston is currently the 6th largest law firm in the State of Maryland.)  Colleen worked in the Corporate/Business Law Division of Whiteford.  In that capacity, Colleen drafted corporate, limited liability entity, and partnership documents; handled formations, non-profit organizations, mergers, acquisitions, dissolutions, and foreign qualifications; and responded to annual financial audit requests.

Gail Spielberger also worked at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston from 1994 to 2009.  At Whiteford, Gail made partner in the Litigation Department.  In that capacity, Gail handled civil litigation, with emphasis in insurance defense, commercial crime and fidelity coverage opinions, business litigation, environmental law, lead paint poisoning defense, and products liability defense.  Gail negotiated, litigated and advised clients on matters regarding insurance coverage disputes, environmental clean-up, matters before the Office of Administrative Hearings, property/premises liability issues, contracts, discovery, Chapter 11 asbestos bankruptcy, and products liability. After leaving Whiteford, Gail worked for Travelers Insurance Company as a senior civil defense litigation attorney.  Gail handled a heavy caseload and trial schedule involving litigation, mediation, and binding arbitration cases throughout the State of Maryland (Circuit Court, District Court, United States District Court for the District of Maryland, Court of Special Appeals) with emphasis on liability defense litigation and appeals. Throughout her legal career, Gail tried to a conclusion over a dozen trials.

Together, Joe, Colleen and Gail combine to have 22 years of large law firm experience.  That experience translates into big law firm talent at hometown legal prices.  In fact, the legal fees charged by the lawyers at SLH, P.A. are substantially lower than their peers in Towson, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.  SLH is proud to have lawyers that have big firm talent and pass the savings on to their clients.
